The Tenth Law Of Prosperity
Wed, Aug 19, 2009
THE LAST LAW OF PROSPERITY I WILL MENTION IS TO “HONOUR THE LORD WITH THY SUBSTANCE, AND WITH THE FIRST FRUITS OF ALL THINE INCREASE” (PROV. 3:9-10).
If we do this we have the promise, “So shall thy barns be filled with plenty, and thy presses shall burst out with new wine.”
*NOTE. This post has been corrected since it’s original posting on Wednesday, August 19th. A reader commented on the original post pointing out the fact that “Honouring the Lord with thy substance”, as it relates to today’s Church, is a matter of one’s heart vs. any obligation under the Old Covenant Law. There’s no doubt in my mind that God does bless a cheerful giver, but to grab a hold of the promises of Malachi 3:10 would constitute the acceptance of the whole Old Covenant Law.
With that said…
The question to consider is not whether to give or not to give, but whether our giving is done under grace or are we obligated to pay a tithe (one tenth) of our income under the law.
TITHING is under the law of the Old Covenant, and GIVING is under the grace of the New Covenant.
Romans 6:14 says, “…for ye are not under the law, but under grace.”
Every believer in the Lord Jesus Christ has the privilege of giving “… as God has prospered him” (1 Cor. 16:2), and “… according as he purposeth in his hear…” (2 Cor. 9:7).
We should give of a ”willing mind” (2 Cor. 8:12), and cheerfully and freely (2 Cor. 9:7).
Every believer in Christ has the privilege of giving to the Lord’s work because we have received His unspeakable gift (2 Cor. 9:15), and have given ourselves to Him. There is nothing wrong with giving a “tenth”, so long as it is understood that we are not “legally” bound to any tithing ordinance of the Old Covenant.
There you have it. We cannot practice these 10 laws of prosperity without being prosperous.
If you want to prosper, set your house in order. In other words, set your priorities. What’s the most important to you?
Follow faithfully the 10 laws of prosperity.
Soon God will lead you into blessings that you never thought possible.
So there you have it… the 10 laws of prosperity!
Dig Deep!

“We” the Church do NOT have the promise of Malachi 3:10. We are New Covenant Christians and God deals with us through New Covenant provisions. God never commanded New Covenant Christians to be blessed because of their obedience to one of over 600 commands of the whole Old Covenant law.
Russell,
Thanks for the comment. I do stand corrected and will certainly make the correction. I do believe that every believer in Christ has the privilege of giving to the Lord’s work because we have received His unspeakable gift, and have given ourselves to Him. There is nothing wrong with giving a tenth, so long as it is understood that we are not legally bound to any tithing ordinance of the Old Covenant.
