1 Samuel 17 is the well-known chapter of David and Goliath.  Goliath challenges a combat.  David accepts the challenge, and slays him. 

In verse 26 David, after hearing Goliath defy Israel, asks the men… “…for who is this uncircumcised Philistine, that he should defy the armies of the living God?”

Skip down to verse 29 where David asks, “…Is there not a cause?”

When facing the “giants” in our lives we should draw strength from our “cause.”  David’s “cause” was clearly stated in verse 46, “… that all the earth may know that there is a God in Israel.”

…and continued in verse 47, by stating, “… that the battle is the Lord’s…”

Isn’t it wonderful to know that “doing today what today reveals to be done and so ready for the morrow when it comes, THERE CAN BE BUT ONE OUTCOME?”  Especially, when we are yielding to God’s will for our lives we know that He goes before us to slay the “giants.”
